ARNAUD::LOUMEAU::

I PREFER ART OVER CRACK ANY DAY, BUT IF THIS GUYS WORK WAS A DRUG, I'D BE A JUNKIE.
MEET ARNAUD LOUMEAU. I RANDOMLY DISCOVERED HIS WORK WHILE BROWSING AROUND MYSPACE. (you'd be surprised what good you can find there)

He was so gracious as to allow me access into his life, work, and imagery. So i exploited this oppertunity and think you should too!

Q:So Are you a schooled/trained artist, or did you just start doing it one day?
A: I studied at the Poitiers' art school, but I didn't waited to be there to start drawing. I have been fascinated by drawing since childhood, and I never stopped. This is a daily activity, as is listening to music, watching movies, eating. If I don't draw for a day, I don't feel well, I feel then as if I miss something, and cant sleep well.

Q:Recent Interests/Inspirations...
A: Video games and music fascinate me. I spent hours on my Atari in my childhood, and that certainly had an influence on my work, because when I close my eyes I still see light square. I also have great interest in Fluxus movement, even if it doesn't directly have an influence on my work. I mix all these influence with south American primal shapes and dream memories in some kind of mind map.

Q:I noticed your work looks like the inside of my brain but more organized.
Have you been in my head my whole life?

A: Yes, I've always been there, in some small place, waiting quietly for something though I didn't know what. At Christmas, when you had your first video game, or when you plastered rock band posters in your bedroom, I was there. But remember, at that time, you were also in my head. Primal shapes are part of a common unconscious, and they link us all.

Q:Favorite Media to work with?
A: Since 2 years I did a lot of drawing with color pen because of the rainbow array of colors, and their easiness to use. Slow or none time needed to dry, and I love being able to start working quickly.
The colors pré-build in a color pen box allow me to work on algorithms and sequences. Today I work also with color pencil, watercolors, stickers.. I try to mix things to discover new textures and build new feelings. I also use measurement tools as a ruler and a compass to play with straight / free lines.

Q:Any Shows in the US rye now?

A: Not right now, but i'm always ready to. I've had a lot of pleasure in doing exhibitions in the US. I still have a few drawing in Las Vegas, and in Baltimore, and I hope they re doing ok.

Q:If you could be any animal/creature (unless you are already an animal) real or mythical what would you be?
A: I like the idea of the animal totem, as C.G. Jung means it. We share and bear primitive symbols that link us to nature, and make us close to our animal part. I might be a sacred insect parasite, or a magic polar bear, I don't know, but I'm sure I am a symmetric animal.

Q:Do you have a website/flickr/online gallery, where people can see more of your work and/or purchase pieces?
A: Yes, I am very active on Internet, since my adolescence web fascinate me. I can spend hours travelling networks, discovering new things. I fell as this is an endless well because each element can link to another. I currently use 3 websites :

WHATCHU::KNOWA:BOUT:GUSTAVO?

THIS GUY IS WICKED INSANE.AND I LOVE INSANITY. IT'S POWERFUL.

NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING..This is one of those "press pretty" fotos.... but don't let that sweet face and those curly locks fool you... Dudamel is an animal behind the podium..He is the type of "musician" that is totally one with every note every sound, it's like he becomes one with the music....that really makes good artistry.

yeah that's more like it.

HE'S ONLY 28 AND HE WILL BE MUSIC DIRECTOR FOR THE LOS ANGELES PHILHARMONIC THIS FALL 2009. YAH.
check Gustavo's site
He is featured in SEPTEMBER 2009 VOGUE! exciting.

LES::PAUL::DIES

BORN: Lester William Polsfuss- in Waukesha, Wisconsin June 9, 1915

MAJOR POINTS IN LIFE: Paul's innovative guitar, "The Log", built in 1939, was one of the first solid-body electric guitars. It solved the problems of feedback and sustain. Many variations of his original model have been made since then Made popular by artists like ERIC CLAPTON and BB KING.-LES Paul Trio/LES PAUL SHOW
listen

CONTRIBUTIONS TO MUSIC:
-1948, Capitol Records releases a recording that began as an experiment in Paul's garage, entitled "Lover (When You're Near Me)", which featured Paul playing eight different parts on electric guitar, some of recorded at half-speed, hence "double-fast" when played back at normal speed for the master.
-First time that multi-tracking had been used in a recording.
-The recordings were made with acetate disks.
-Paul recorded a track onto disk, then recorded himself playing another part with the first.
-He built the multi-track recording with overlaid tracks, rather than parallel ones as he did later.
-Godfather of STEVE MILLER. Gave Miller his first guitar lesson.

DIED: On August 13, 2009, of complications from pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York

TRIPLE::THREAT::

There was a time when entertainers had to be able to SING, DANCE, and ACT.... Not just make a screen appearance because they are signed to a major record label...
Here is one of the best dance sequences i have ever seen on a film.

It's from Singing in the Rain.

Donald O'Connor is brilliant, do you know that He was apparently hospitalized after filming this, for a broken rib and "exhaustion". Hmmm i wonder why?

So what happened?
